MY APPROACH TO THERAPY

The Three Pillars of my Practice

You are the expert on your own experience–and the hero of your own story.  My job is to offer support, insight, and tools–not to take over

My goal is to work myself out of a job.  Therapy is here to help you grow and move forward, not to keep you stuck in the process.

You are always welcome back.  I make sure my clients have a great experience with me, so that if something shifts and you need support again, you’ll come back.  Life brings new seasons and new challenges, and I’ll be here.

Therapy should feel like time well spent.

I believe your time, energy, and money deserve to go toward something that works– and works for you.  My goal is to help you make meaningful, lasting progress as efficiently, safely, and thoughtfully as possible.  I’m here to support your growth, not to keep you in therapy longer than you need to be.

It’s not the most business-savvy model, but it’s the one I stand by: therapy that helps you build tools, gain clarity, and feel confident moving forward– without me.

As a licensed clinical social worker, my approach is grounded in the core values of the profession:
Service, Social Justice, Dignity and Worth of the Person, the Importance of Human Relationships, Integrity, and Competence.

These aren’t just concepts on paper—they inform the way I listen, speak, and show up for every person I work with. I strive to practice ethically, honestly, and with deep respect for each client’s journey. Therapy is a partnership, and I see your voice as central to the process.

I’m trained in both EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) and traditional talk therapy. While EMDR informs much of my work, I don’t believe in a one-size-fits-all approach. Some clients want to dive into trauma processing; others prefer a steadier pace or a space to talk things through. We decide that together.

Think of me as a cookbook—I’ve got a wide range of solid, time-tested recipes. You choose what feels right, and you’re the one doing the baking. I’ll be there to guide, adapt, and support as you create something meaningful and sustainable for your life.

Every treatment plan is personalized. We’ll clarify your goals, explore what’s getting in the way, and build practical tools to help you move forward. Some people work with me for a few months. Others for longer. There’s no pressure and no “right” way to do therapy—just what works for you.

Whether you’re feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or just ready for something to shift, I offer a grounded, compassionate space where change is possible—and where you’re always in the lead.
