Therapy Services:
Sometimes, we find ourselves in situations where we think one thing, and feel another. It can be so frustrating to know in your mind that you are safe, and still feel afraid. Or to know you don’t have a clear reason for feeling so angry with your child, and still you feel angry. Or to hear that voice telling you that you are no good, or you will fail, to feel that shame and doubt in your chest, even though you know you might be able to get the job done. If you can relate to any or all of these examples, or if that list of things you didn’t get done keeps you up at night, the voice telling you you haven’t done enough to earn sleep yet, or the knowledge that you blame yourself for something you wouldn’t blame someone else for if they were in your shoes, we might be just the practice for you.
Our providers specialize in working with client who may be struggling with PTSD, depression, low self-esteem, phobias, disturbing memories, grief, performance anxiety, compulsive behavior, sleep disturbances, and other experiences where the way we feel doesn’t quite make sense to us, or where it’s not how we’d like to feel. We do this by offering EMDR therapy (follow for more information on EMDR) where that is indicated, and we also offer EMDR-informed talk therapy for clients who are not interested in engaging with EMDR at this time.
Research shows that 90-minute sessions are the most effective for EMDR, and we are happy to offer that duration for clients who are paying out-of-pocket. We hope to be able to offer the same to our HUSKY clients in the future, though for now we are limited to 60-minute sessions for those clients.
We hope you will reach out to schedule a free, 30-minute consultation call with us!
